A multi professional approach to learning

This course looks at how the therapists and education staff in a special school setting work creatively together to promote a child's overall development, successfully preparing them for learning and therefore significantly impacting on a child's progress.

Experienced speech and language, creative, occupational and physio therapists and a habilitation specialist will share a range of case studies to showcase the above.

  • Teachers and teaching assistants in primary special schools wokring with young people with visual impairment and complex needs
  • Physiotherapists, SaLTs, Habilitation specialists, creative therapists, occupational therapists and assistants

  • To develop an understanding of the roles of the range of therapists in a special school setting
  • To understand the importance and benefits of creative working between the therapists and education staff
  • To consider methods of integrating therapy targets into the school curriculum
  • To observe how a multi professional approach impacts on a child's progress
