Ways to read

If you have little or no sight, there are several different ways to read:

The way you chose may change as your level of vision changes, or depending on what you're reading, or as new technology brings new ways to read.

Audio

Audio books, newspapers and magazines are available to listen to on CD, cassette tape, and in digital formats (like MP3).

Braille and other tactile codes

Braille is a system of raised dots which allows blind and partially sighted people to read and write using touch.

eBooks and digital

eBooks can be read in large print, audio, or in braille, on computers, mobile phones, tablets (like the iPad) or dedicated eBook readers (like the Kindle).

Large and giant print

If you have some vision, but are not able or comfortable accessing regular print, large or giant print may be for you.
