Your chance to influence the development of a proposed new RNIB service that would provide Talking Books for download.

Purpose of the survey

We are currently looking into the possibility of providing a new service that would allow you to download Talking Books to a computer, MP3 player or smartphone. The proposed service would aim to address current gaps in the audio book market and be designed to meet the specific needs of blind and partially sighted people.

We are not proposing to cease the delivery of Talking Books on CD. However, we do want to consider other ways of delivering the Talking Book Service, particularly in response to demand from customers who are interested in downloading.

Share your opinions

As part of the research stage we are using a survey targeted at blind and partially sighted people and their friends and family. Participants will be asked to answer questions about several proposed options and how these might meet their needs in terms of things like content, function and cost. Download the survey here:

We will be contacting some participants by email but anyone with sight loss, or family and friends, can take part by completing the survey, your input would be really appreciated.
