New books now available

Hundreds of new audio, giant print and braille books have just been added to the RNIB National Library Service collection - from prize winners to historical tales and thrillers.

Latest books

Best selling crime writer Lynda La Plante was awarded an honorary fellowship by the Forensic Science Society in March 2013 for the accuracy with which she portrays forensic science in her work. Try her novel, Deadly intent, which tells the story of Alexander Fitzpatrick whose wealth, accrued through drug trafficking, runs into millions. For the past ten years there has been no sighting of him. Investigating a series of murders, Anna Travis suspects that Fitzpatrick could be involved. Available in audio and giant print.

Would you accept a chance for happiness even if it wasn't yours to have? That's the question posed in The light between oceans by ML Stedman. This is a story about a lighthouse keeper and his wife, who live on a lonely island with just seagulls, stars and buffeting winds for company. It's a story about right and wrong, and how sometimes they look the same. Available in braille and giant print.

If you like historical fiction, why not try Citadel by Kate Mosse? Set during World War II in the far south of France, this is a powerful, action-packed mystery that reveals the secrets of the resistance under Nazi occupation. Available in audio, giant print and braille.

Jeremy Vine is one of the most successful broadcasters of recent years and in 2012 clocked up a quarter of a century at the BBC. In It's All News to Me, he takes a look back over his career from the very first day when he arrived at broadcasting house. Available in giant print and braille.
