There are many devices on the market which can be used for reading eBooks. The latest to hit the news headlines is Apple's new iPad, launched on 16 March. Earlier models of the iPad already had accessibility features that blind and partially sighted people can use to read eBooks either by adjusting the font size, using text-to-speech synthetic voice or plugging in an electronic braille display.
The new model also has a higher resolution screen, making things look sharper and more clearly defined. This could be of interest if you use magnification. The new models start at £399. And if you were thinking of buying an earlier model, the price of iPad2 has gone down: now starting at £329.
