Plans for a new computer system for RNIB's reading services have taken a step forward with the official appointment of Axiell as supplier of the project's IT requirements.
Axiell is a leading business solutions supplier to libraries, archives, museums and records centres. We are looking forward to working with Axiell to develop a reading management system which will give customers greater independence and more flexible browsing.
Appointing an external mainstream supplier will also give RNIB an important opportunity to influence mainstream library providers by developing a catalogue and delivery system that can be made fully accessible to blind and partially sighted people.
