Science fiction exhibition at British Library

A flying saucer exhibit at the British Library

Out of this world is an exhibition at the British Library in London all about science fiction:

"In this exhibition science fiction is revealed not just as a literary genre but as a way of looking at the world and exploring alternative ideas about science, politics, society, the future...and the nature of reality itself. Writers and artists have long explored those ideas, imagining other worlds and asking big questions."

Highlights include hand-written volumes by the Bronte children describing their imaginary worlds, Frank R. Paul's 1928 cover for Amazing Stories (the world's first science fiction magazine) and audio interviews with science fiction writers.

The exhibition runs until 25 September 2011.
