More of our talking book readers are reporting delays in receiving and returning their CDs even though they have been posted. So we were interested to read in The Daily Telegraph recently that Royal Mail cut almost 6,500 collections from 115,000 post boxes last year. Last post collections were also brought forward at 4,287 post boxes. These figures are not reflected in Royal Mail's quarterly quality of service figures, which only monitor whether letters have been delivered on time. This information, made public after a Freedom of Information request, may explain why some talking book customers are experiencing delays.
Feedback
We would like to get a better idea of how widespread this problem might be. Please could you spare two minutes to send us some feedback? Feedback from braille and giant print readers is welcome too.
Please include the following details:
-
Your name and address.
-
Whether you have experienced delays in receiving and sending your talking books: yes or no
-
If yes, how often has it occurred: occasionally (once or twice in the last 12 months) or frequently (more than five times in the last 12 months)
-
Has the delay affected: talking books being sent to you, talking books being returned to RNIB or both?
-
Is there anything else you would like to share or say about your experience with Royal Mail deliveries and collections - good and bad!
