Once again RNIB National Library Service is working to enable young people with sight loss to take part in the
CILIP Carnegie Medal shadowing scheme.
The Carnegie Medal has been awarded annually to the writer of an outstanding book for children since 1936 and was named after the philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie. Children's Librarians from all over the country judge the books and children in schools and public libraries come together to discuss the shortlisted titles as part of the Carnegie Shadowing Scheme, although individuals can also 'shadow' the award independently.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young blind and partially sighted people to comment on the shortlisted titles for this prestigious book award. The books can be borrowed from RNIB in Braille grade 2, daisy audio and giant print from 12 March - register now to get involved.
