New RNIB web pages

A screenshot of the new reading pages

We have made some changes to the 'Reading' section of the RNIB website in response to customer suggestions. Some customers found it hard to locate certain resources, so changes have been made to make navigating the website easier.

The main changes

  • The 'Reading and writing' section has been renamed simply 'Reading'

  • The content has been reorganised around the different accessible reading formats, so the 'Ways to read' section links to pages about braille, audio, eBooks etc.
  • The 'What to read' section contains all of the different types of reading material: magazines, books etc.
  • There is a new 'Products to help you read' section
  • The 'Read with RNIB' section contains all of the reading services provided by RNIB including the Library and Talking Books.
  • There is also a new glossary with useful reading terminology.

What hasn't changed

Some things have stayed the same:

  • 30 of the most used pages have been redirected automatically so bookmarks should still function.
  • Short links such as rnib.org.uk/library, will still work and there is still a link to Talking Books on the homepage.
  • The Talking Books and Library pages and related resources such as book lists haven't really changed much and can be found in the 'Read with RNIB' section.
  • The catalogues are still easy to find and their website addresses haven't changed.

We hope that you like the changes. Please email any comments or feedback to library@rnib.org.uk.
