Top audio books of 2012

Author, Peter Robinson

Every year, RNIB Talking Books customers borrow around 1.6 million audio books in total. But which titles are the most popular?

Crime audio books

In 2012, crime writer Peter Robinson was a big favourite with Talking Books customers, with three Inspector Banks books featuring in the top ten reads of the year. Many of his books have been televised recently, no doubt adding to their popularity.

Crime books are popular in general with two other crime writers, Ian Rankin and Lynda La Plante, also appearing in the top ten.

New audio books

New books by Jeffrey Archer, Joanna Trollope and William Boyd, only added to the collection this year, have already been a big hit.

And just outside the top ten were books by Maureen Lee, Annie Baker and Peter James.
