Marmite book - Wolf Hall

A jar of Marmite

In the last issue Deb Ryan nominated The Time Traveler's Wife as her book to hate.

Pam Hyett disagreed. "Unlike Deb I loved Audrey Niffernegger's Time Traveller's Wife. I could not put it down. I found the ending particularly satisfying with the final meeting between Henry and Claire."

This time Peter Griffiths nominates Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel:

"For me, this book ticked both boxes in the Marmite ranking! I was frustrated by the way it was written, kept getting lost as to who was speaking and who or where the characters were - yet at the same time I was riveted by the story and am looking forward to the sequel (Bring Up The Bodies) - not to mention the televised version! Asking around, I found one other person who had finished it, two who had given up and one who is gearing herself up for another go. On balance, I would recommend giving it a try but will not accept any blame."
