Get into poetry

A selection of books

RNIB's National Library service has lots of poetry books you can borrow and you can find some suggestions on our booklist page but if you find the library didn't meet your poetry fix on National Poetry Day, this year on 4th October, why not try The Saison Poetry Library.

It's the UK's largest collection of modern and contemporary poetry and offers a free postal loan service to people with sight problems. You can borrow a large selection of poetry compact discs including everything from a recording by the recent Forward Prize winner, Scottish poet John Burnside, to favourite poems from childhood, an anthology of poems about science, and powerful performance poetry by Jamaican poet Jean 'Binta' Breeze.

The Braille collection can also offer the very best of contemporary and twentieth century poetry. You can call 020 7921 0943, or follow them on Twitter @wetblackbough.

John Hegley says of the library: "Use and enjoy this place. Burrow in, borrow on!" We invite you to get in touch and get into poetry.
