Reading Buddy

Three children reading together

A while ago we asked if any Book box readers were interested in joining a children's bookchain. We had quite a lot of interest but because the ages of the children who registered varied so much, we thought that a better idea would be to begin a Reading Buddy scheme.

Reading Buddies are paired up to read the same book as another young person around the same age. Afterwards we ask that you share you comments with us so that we can pass them to your partner.

The real beauty of being a Reading Buddy is that you can try books that you might not have thought of reading before as you literally don't know which book will be sent until it arrives!

So whether you read braille, DAISY or giant print you can be a Reading Buddy no matter where you live within the UK. If you love reading and like to try different types of books why not give Children's Librarians Liz and Hazel a ring on 0161 355 2061 or email childrenslibrarian@rnib.org.uk to find out more about the scheme.
