BBC Radio 2 - '500 Words' children's writing competition

Young budding writers may be interested to know that BBC Radio 2 in association with 'Hay Fever, the children's programme of the Hay Festival of Literature and Arts are running a children's writing competition.

The competition aims to encourage children (13 years old or under) to write a story of a maximum of 500 words on any fictional subject they choose. Judges include Anthony Horowitz, Jacqueline Wilson and David Walliams. Entries can be submitted at the BBC Radio 2 website until 9.30am on Thursday 3 March 2011 - World Book Day.
