BookStream book club is a web based subscription service designed for blind and partially sighted computer users who read DAISY audio books. It's nice and easy to use, and gives you access to read up to five DAISY books of your choice simultaneously.
Audio stream your books
To listen to your selected titles, you can either stream them via your internet connection, using the NetPLEXTALK DAISY player software you get as part of your subscription. With this option, you can be up and running in minutes and listening to your favourite book. Your selected books will sit on your electronic 'bookshelf' and you can swap them for new titles at your leisure.
Please note, this is a streaming service only and not a download service:

a streaming service needs an active internet connection (we recommend you use a broadband connection rather than dial up)

a download service would allow you to get the audio book, listen to it without an internet connection, and transfer it to other devices (such as an iPod) - this isn't possible with BookStream.
Order CDs for postal delivery
Alternatively, you can order copies of DAISY audio books on CD through the site, for postal delivery, which you can then play on either a DAISY player or your PC. You decide when you want to return any of the titles and swap them for new ones, giving you flexibility and control to read at your own pace.
How to subscribe
You can read as many books as you like in the space of a year for an annual subscription of just £50. There is a simple online registration process to go through, then you're ready to start reading. Please note, you must be resident in the UK to use the service.
