Why we need your help
Every year RNIB provides practical and emotional support to thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by sight loss. Losing your sight can be an immensely challenging experience. RNIB's wide range of practical training, emotional counselling, advice and products are a lifeline to the people who depend on them.

Donate
We rely on donations from people like you to keep doing what we do.
-
Just £10 a month pays for a parent of a blind or partially sighted child to learn braille and be able to help their child with schoolwork.
-
£4 a month will teach someone enough braille basics to start living more independently through RNIB's innovative 'Teach yourself braille' kits (Dot-to-dot).
You can set up a regular gift or make a single donation. Leave a legacy in your Will and help us secure a brighter future for blind and partially sighted people.
For every £1 we raise, RNIB spends 87p directly helping blind and partially sighted people.
Get your dots on
The 6-dot system of communication invented by Louis Braille has transformed the lives of blind and partially sighted people. To celebrate 200 years of braille, RNIB is asking schools and groups of all shapes and sizes to help us continue transforming lives by holding a Dotty Day. To hold a Dotty Day simply wear something with dots on and make a donation to RNIB.
Fundraise
There are lots of other things you can do to support RNIB's work.
You can run or take on a challenge and get physical with Team RNIB, recycle your unwanted mobile phone, cartridges and PDAs, enter our raffle, give as you shop or even create your own fundraising event. Visit our Fundraising homepage to get started today.
Campaign
RNIB is the largest producer of braille in Europe. We also provide braille courses for parents and teaching assistants of blind and partially sighted children to make sure they are properly supported through schools and receive the education they deserve.
We actively campaign to ensure blind and partially sighted people aren't excluded from vital information, services and products. Our campaigning on braille is part of a broader campaign to guarantee access to accessible information like bank statements, local services and medicine.
Thanks to our work, drug companies are now required to feature the product name in braille on all pill packaging, which means blind and partially sighted braille readers can administer their own medicine more safely.
