WBU audio description toolkit

The World Blind Union (WBU) has developed a toolkit for anyone planning, or interested in planning, a campaign on Audio Description (AD). It is designed to share the experiences of people/ organisations that have been promoting the use of AD on films and television programmes worldwide.

Target audience

Organisations planning to influence relevant industries to kick-start the use of AD, as well as those that want to campaign for the growth of an existing AD service, may find information in this toolkit relevant and useful.

Key areas

The toolkit covers the delivery of Audio Description on different media platforms such as television, online players, cinemas and home entertainment products - DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Samples of audio description

The WBU Audio Description Toolkit also offers Audio Described sample clips in different languages, case studies, technical explanations and important tips on how to plan a campaign for Audio Description in your own country.
