E-learning module aims to spread awareness of sight loss and dementia

A new e-learning module aimed at helping eye health and sight loss professionals improve their understanding of sight loss and dementia is set to be launched next month.

RNIB’s Practice and Development Team has created the module called Eye Health Care for Everyone. It is interactive module and uses DVD clips to demonstrate the leading causes of sight loss. There is also a personal account from Stewart who is living with sight loss and dementia. It also highlights useful resources for professioals and carers.

The module will launch on 1 March 2016 and to mark this RNIB Scotland will give free access to to the module for the first 1500 users. After the free places have been allocated, a charge between £10 - £15 will be applied.

The module takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and has an optional ‘Action into Practice’ section, which can feed into the SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare and Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
