We have great news! After continued campaigning, this month King’s Hospital in Denmark Hill based in South East London, are introducing a sight loss adviser service to their eye department.
Eye departments across the UK are increasingly seeing the benefit of having a sight loss adviser, also known as an ECLO (Eye Clinic Liaison Officer) as part of a core service provision for patients.
The challenges faced by blind and partially sighted people in busy city centres came under the spotlight in Exeter on 1 April when local sight loss adviser, Tracy Wilson, took leading Exeter councillors and key officers on a tour of the city centre.
