At RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning we provide funded education and care places which are paid for by a child’s home local authority. The local authority is responsible for placing a child or young person into education and/or care provision which fully meets their needs.

Our fees are currently subsidised by RNIB, who cover the costs of some of the overheads provided to our school and children’s home.

In addition to the fee our school also receives additional funding, including:

  • PE and Sports Grant
  • Vulnerable Student Bursary
  • Pupil Premium Plus
  • Universal Infant School Meals
  • Devolved Formula Capital and School Condition Allocation

Pupil premium

Our School at RNIB Pears Centre is not currently in receipt of Pupil Premium for non-Looked After Child (LAC) students who meet the eligibility criteria. This is due to the funding not being allocated by the placing local authority.

  • 2016/17 - per cent - No funding allocated
  • 2015/16 - per cent - No funding allocated
  • 2014/15 - per cent - No funding allocated
