Access to information is the key to participating in society, achieving in education and gaining employment. The importance of access to information is reflected in its recognition as a fundamental human right, backed by legislation.

Making your information accessible

In essence we are talking about how to convey information in an appropriate or required format. This might take a number of forms. From specialist formats (like braille, audio, DAISY or accessible images) through to mainstream documents (like printed materials, e-books, spreadsheets, word processed documents or web pages).

These pages are designed to help you understand a little more about making information accessible, provide key information to get you started, and to signpost additional resources to help you achieve the goal of ensuring any information you create is as accessible as possible.
