Text

Text can come in a variety of shapes (fonts) and sizes and is used for sighted people in a number of different ways, and often comes with a number of titles:

Small print - It's a size thing, but often also a legal thing. Sighted people might choose not to read the small print, but what if you were not given the choice because you couldn't read it?

Clear print - RNIB recommends people produce documents which are clear and accurately convey your message by following our Clear Print guidelines.

Large print - Most people have heard of Large Print, it is produced across the country on a regular basis, but what is it?

Fonts - The font you use can govern the look and feel of your document, helping to show how formal or friendly your message is, but if you are not careful it can also present a barrier in terms of accessibility.

Formatting - Page layout when done correctly can make the world of difference to the legibility of your document.

See it Right - RNIB's guide to making information accessible for people with sight problems covers a range of topics and is available to purchase now from the online shop.
