Disabled young people not consulted over reforms

Disabled young people have not been sufficiently consulted with by the Government over reforms to Disability Living Allowance due next year.

The concerns have been raised in a report produced by Every Disabled Child Matters and RNIB, which calls on the government to ensure 16-25 year olds are able to participate fully in decision making.

The report has outlined the "top ten asks" from disabled young people. This includes calls for information to be made available in accessible formats for people who are blind or partially sighted.

Personal Independence Payments are due to replace the Disability Living Allowance for everyone aged between 16 and 65 next year.

You can download the full report from the Every Disabled Child Matters website.
