Our Education update is a termly enewsletter featuring the latest research, policy and resources news for education professionals from RNIB's Children Young People and Families team.

Although the enewsletter is termly, we do occasionaly send out email newsflashes between these dates with breaking or time sensitive information, such as emerging government policy or professional development opportunities, to ensure you can keep up to date with the latest education news.

  • Education update - February 2013 - Hightlights include news on the impending SEN legislation, new Early Support resources and Action activity breaks for children and young people.
  • Education update - November 2012 - Highlights include the findings of RNIB's recent national survey of VI services, advice to local authorities on protecting specialist services and details of the forthcoming VIEW conference.
  • Education update - June 2012 - Highlights include news on the Government's proposal to reform the SEND framework and new resources for blind and partially sighted young people going through transition.

Research into service development participation

The Council for Disabled Children is running a three-year project to discover the most effective ways to enable young disabled people's participation in the development of services in England.
