RNIB in partnership with Action for Blind People, have produced transition guidance for young people who are blind or partially sighted in England. Entitled 'Your future, your choice: bridging the gap', the guide outlines the support and services available to assist young people through their journey from school, through further and higher education, and into employment.
The guide aims to empower young people, enabling them to make informed choices about their future. The guide signposts young people to agencies providing support, such as Disability Employment Advisors, and clarify schemes such as Disabled Students Allowance and Access to Work.
The guide is a useful resource for professionals working with young people to help support young people to make their own decisions about their future.
