A local blind society has received offers of help from their local community after its building was attacked by vandals last month.
Northamptonshire Association for the Blind buildings and grounds at Wardington Court in Kingsthorpe suffered an attack by vandals which saw a 200-year-old wall being knocked down, a fence demolished and windows smashed at the premises.
The attack took place on the Association headquarters, though there are also homes for six blind and partially sighted residents in the grounds.
No suspects have yet been caught by the Police and the Association is waiting on total damage cost estimates from its insurers, but offers of help have come flooding in.
Stefanie Weldon, Marketing Manager for Northamptonshire Association for the Blind said: "The local community have offered to help, cleaning up and tidying up as we have a lot of broken glass in the premises. Some local companies have offered to help, as have a number of local tradespeople. The Association has received a number of financial donations from individuals and groups".
"It is nice to see that people care and have been made more aware of crime, and to call the police if they see or hear anything unusual," she added.
The residential area has been made secure for residents and no-one was injured in the attack.
