The Macular Society has unveiled a set of learning outcomes for eccentric viewing and steady eye strategy for rehabilitation officers. Researchers are looking to speak to people with sight loss and dementia or memory problems. The Association for Dementia Studies is working on a research project looking at the needs of people with dementia and impaired sight in different housing settings.

Passengers with sight loss excluded from bus travel

People who are blind or partially sighted are being cut off from family and friends, because buses don't cater for their needs. The Road to Nowhere Survey, published by Guide Dogs, reveals that 80 per cent of people with sight loss say they are unable to enjoy the freedom that others take for granted because they find travelling by bus so difficult.

Vision group warns CCGs to invest in eye care

A cross sector group of eye charities and professional bodies is warning that many people will lose their sight unless the new-look NHS prioritises eye care.
