A DVD of patient and clinician experiences with personal health budgets, is now available to health and social care professionals.
Patients involved in the personal health budgets (PHB) pilot programme share their experiences on the process and what they decided to spend their money on.
Entitled: Three years on: Stories from the pilot programme, the DVD includes a segment specifically for healthcare professionals featuring interviews with GPs, nurses and a range of practitioners.
Good practice
The DVD is part of a good practice toolkit for healthcare professionals. It illustrates the choices people can make if they have a personal health budget, and the positive impact it can have on their health and lives.
The DVD could be used for professional training in the NHS and social care, or given to patients who are considering a personal health budget. It has been produced by the Department of Health.
