Sight loss tool for health professionals

Eye health and sight loss professionals are being urged to use a tool that provides information about sight loss across the country.

Produced by RNIB, the sight loss data tool is free of charge and offers a wide range of data for every region and local authority in England.

Future eye health needs

The data is useful as every local authority is responsible for maintaining a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), which reports on the health and wellbeing needs of local people. It also looks ahead at emerging challenges and projected need in the future

The tool can be used, for example, to find the estimated number of people living with sight loss and how this could change by 2020. Or to discover how many people have age-related-macular degeneration in the North West region.
