You will learn about the key factors relating to making an office environment accessible for disabled people.
There are approximately 10.6 million disabled people in Britain with a spending power in excess of £80 billion. Excluding so many disabled people from the office environment is not inclusive and does not make good business sense.

Content
Aspects include:

Design and Disability - The disabling environment based on the social model of disability, and the access and design implications of a range of physical and sensory impairments.

The Legislative Framework - An outline of the access implications of the Equality Act 2010, Part M of the building regulations, British Standards and current good practice standards.

Principles into Practice - Applying access guidelines, key elements and dimensions, external environments and approaches to the building, as well as circulation and facilities within the office premises.

Review of current practice - including good and bad practice.

Action Planning - An opportunity for you to consider how you will use the training in your own work and office environment.
