This course is designed to help you to achieve a thorough understanding of the legislative and practical issues relating to the pedestrian environment. Find out what makes our public spaces easier to get around, and design features that cause issues for people with disabilities.

Content
Aspects include:
Design and disability - the access and design implications of a range of physical and sensory disabilities
The legislative framework - an outline of the access implications of the Equality Act 2010
Guidance and best practice - guidelines for road crossings and tactile paving and good practice standards
Principles into practice - applying access guidelines, key elements and dimensions to external environments
Action planning - an opportunity for participants to consider how they use the training in their own work.
