The emergence of audio description (AD) has led to the development of guidelines and standards for the production and delivery of AD in several countries.
These guidelines seek to achieve qualitative improvement in the audio description currently being produced and also provide guidance to professional describers.
Comparison of guidance
A comparison of the audio description guidelines from different countries has been completed and reveals that they are not very different from each other with only a few minor differences.
