Design and build accessible websites

  • Cascading Style Sheets - basic advice, layout and positioning, text and colour and advanced techniques
  • Colour - how to use colour as a visual aid and choose colour contrast combination
  • Images - alt text, animated images, maps and images of text
  • Multimedia - audio, video, Flash and PDF documents
  • Navigation - advice on access keys and links, help pages, hidden navigation and tabindex, new windows and page titles
  • Scripts and forms - dynamics menus and JavaScript, forms, timeouts and page refreshes
  • Text - Acronyms, abbreviations and ASCII text, font size, text only sites and sitemaps, language and writing for the web
