Surf Right Toolbar

The RNIB Web Accessibility Toolbar (Beta) is a free plugin for Internet Explorer. It is designed to make adjusting certain options within Internet Explorer quicker and easier, using either the mouse or keyboard. Developed by RNIB, the Web Accessibility Tools Consortium (WAT-C) and Jun, the Accessibility Toolbar is a free download and currently in beta version.

Once you have downloaded the Zip file, open it and double-click on the file called RNIB_Toolbar.exe to install the toolbar onto your computer.

Surf Right documentation

The following downloads contain information, background and technical guidance on the Surf Right standard. You can download the Surf Right bundle (zip archive) or each file separately.

• RNIB Surf Right v1.0 (Zip archive, 846KB) - This archive contains the following three documents.
• Top level outline of Background and guidance - RNIB Surf Right (Word, 702KB) - This is an overview of our standard, listing all the Surf Right requirements. It's aimed to non-technical people. It also briefly explains our audit process and introduces a new progressive logo scheme called "RNIB Right Direction logo awards".
• Background and guidance - RNIB Surf Right (Word, 1.13MB) - This document includes the lists all the 161 tests that we carry out when we do an audit to Surf Right. It's more technical and it also includes additional recommendations and detailed explanation of the difference between Surf Right and WCAG 2.0.
• Surf Right and WCAG2 AA checklists v1.0 (Excel, 144KB) - This Excel spreadsheet includes three checklists: Surf Right, WCAG 2.0 Double-A and Right Direction requirements, with cross-references.

See it Right documentation

The See it Right standard is our legacy product and is based on WCAG 1.0. The following downloads contain information, background and technical guidance on the See it Right standard.

Note: we no longer accept new commissions for See it Right audits.

• See it Right standard (Word, 294KB) - This document gives explanation on the 28 checkpoints of the See it Right standard.
• See it Right checklist (Excel, 33KB) - This spreadsheet lists all 28 checkpoints in See it Right as well as each issue under each checkpoint. This is a handy list that can be used during your planning, designing, building and testing stages of making your site accessible.
