RNIB respond to the draft SEN code of practice

RNIB has submitted a response to the Department of Education and the Department of Health's latest consultation as part of the changes to SEN provision in England.

There is greater clarity and reassurance on the replacement for School Action and School Action Plus. Concerns have been picked up around access to specialist support from birth at home, around Early Years providers and around how and when QTVIs would be involved in assessments and re-assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans. However there are still some issues that the Government have yet to address either in the Code of Practice or in the Bill.
