Trying out assistive technology in schools

Our Technology Education Loan Library (TELL) is a short-term loan scheme for schools.

It enables a student with a visual impairment to try using an item of technology over a short period (six to eight weeks) so they and their teachers can evaluate its effectiveness in an educational setting.

How it works

A range of the latest equipment is available through the loan scheme, including hand-held and desktop magnifiers, screen-reading technology, screen-magnification technology and braille technology.

The scheme does not replace any statutory responsibility on schools to provide necessary equipment, but it does enable them to assess the most appropriate piece of equipment prior to purchase.

How to use TELL
