As well as training courses, we organise a number of social and other events throughout the year.
Family fun days
Our Family Fun Days are free and, as crèche facilities are provided, they are accessible to families with young children as well as older ones.
The aim of these days is to provide information to parents, and to allow children and young people with a visual impairment to take part in organised activities. Parents are welcome to take part in the activities, too, if they wish.
“Promoting Independence” summer camp, West Linton, August 4-8
This will be our third Summer Camp for 14-18 year olds at Broomlee Outdoor Centre at West Linton in the Borders. Each year gets better and better and is definitely the highlight on our calendar. The purpose of the residential is to prepare young people for independent adulthood. It is always great fun and participants learn so much throughout the week.
If you are going to college or university soon and wish to improve your independent living skills, while trying some exciting outdoor activities such as kayaking, pole climbing and death slide, then get in touch early to book your place. The event is free to all participants.
Family Fun Day, Fordell Firs, Scout Centre, Fife, Saturday, September 13.
Our free Family Fun Days are accessible to families with young children as well as older ones. The aim of these days is to provide information to parents, and to allow children and young people with a visual impairment to take part in organised activities. Family Residential Weekend (Halloween theme), King’s Manor Hotel, Edinburgh, November 1-2.
