If your patient has recently been diagnosed with a sight problem our guide on coming to terms with sight loss contains with sight loss contains a wealth of information and sources of help. Our eye health section also provides detailed information about specific eye conditions.
RNIB Helpline can provide your patient with a direct line to the support, advice and products they need to remain independent. Our specialist advice workers will spend time with your patient over the phone, making sure the support they give is right for them. They'll also call back a few weeks later to find out how they're getting on and what else we can do to help. RNIB Talk and Support works closely with those working in eye health care, the voluntary sector and social services teams to reach those people with sight loss who are most in need of social contact and peer support. Talk and support offers telephone groups for adults with sight loss in the UK, providing a much needed opportunity for people to make friends, share information and support each other. People with sight loss can contact Talk and Support direct, or with their permission, you can make a referral to the service on their behalf. Call 0845 330 3723 or 020 7874 1303. Our online shop sells thousands of products and publications that help blind and partially sighted people live independently. Your patient can browse, search and buy from our full range online for delivery straight to their door. They can also read product instructions online before they add the item to their shopping basket.
