Name change from Rushton
We used to be known as RNIB Rushton School and Children's Home. Our name changed to RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning in 2011 as part of a major redevelopment and in recognition of the exceptional support of Pears Foundation. Our redevelopment is one of RNIB’s most ambitious projects ever, creating our fully-accessible school, bungalows, gardens and outdoor play areas.
