Activity ideas

Adults

• memory boxes - place familiar items inside and record what's in the box
• photographs (ideal for adults with dementia) - place photographs inside the box and write a message on the front saying "I am your daughter" - add an extra description by recording an audio message such as 'my name is Elizabeth, I am 42, I have long red hair
• place medicines inside and record when they should be taken and how many

Children

• open ended discussions - place items inside such as a tiny dragon, an egg, a star etc. and discuss "where it is from" and "what type of material it is made from" etc.
• materials - place different type of materials in the box and record or write a clue to what it is inside the box such as "Im shiny and cutlery is made of this"
• primary Languages - adapt the games to different languages for example for a dog record "Chien" and place a model or tactile picture of a dog inside
• letters - either record or write the letter on etc box e.g C is for cat, then place model or tactile image of a cat inside
