This spelling dictionary is for new brailler writers studying at Key Stage 1 and early Key Stage 2. Each word is shown in uncontracted braille (grade 1) and contracted braille (grade 2), if applicable, and in 18 point print.

  • in addition to a word list containing most of the words young writers are likely to use, there is a mini thesaurus giving synonyms for common words such as "then", "said" and "went"
  • the final quarter of the book contains several theme word lists, covering colours, school, home, geography, sports, astronomy/space, holidays and weather
