The Milestone 212 DAISY player is a simple and easy-to-use portable DAISY player. It has the same popular shape and size as the Milestone 312 DAISY player but has been designed primarily as a book reader. Its perfect for listening to your DAISY books, books from audible.co.uk, and reading text files using its built-in text to speech software. You can also listen to other files including music in MP3, WMA and AAC formats.

Text to speech (T T S)
The built-in text to speech program (T T S) reads out your documents using synthetic speech. It has four voices to choose from: Graham, Peter, Lucy and Rachel using the voice engine from Acapela.
The Milestone 212 is compatible with Microsoft Word files (DOC) and TXT files. You can adjust the reading speed, skip through the file by screen, paragraph, sentence or word and also have individual words spelt out letter by letter.

Firmware updates
Occasionally, a new version of the Milestone's internal software (firmware) becomes available. All new Milestone have the latest firmware installed but if you already have one, we recommend you update it with the latest firmware. This will ensure you are getting the most out of your player. The latest firmware is version 4.47.5.
To update your Milestone, download the Milestone Firmware ZIP file (ZIP 2.6MB) and follow the instructions within the firmware release notes (TXT, 18KB)(opens new window).
