Product features
Taking calculated risks is part of growing up, and having the chance to challenge ourselves enables us to learn about our strengths and our boundaries. As parents and professionals we have a responsibility to ensure that the children we support have opportunities to face challenge, and are safe as they do so. This edition begins with a look at staying safe in the context of risk assessment and considers policies and procedures that should be in place to safeguard children during organisational activities. Our features go on to underline the physical, social and emotional value that children and young people gain from taking part in sports and other challenging activities. Several stories from young people, including a world champion paratriathlete, and a promising young rugby player, make inspiring reading.
