The SuperCheck2 control solution is used in conjunction with the meter to ensure that the meter works accurately with the test strips. It is supplied in a 3ml vial and has an expiry date of three months from opening.

It is important that you perform a control solution test before first using the meter to carry out a blood glucose test, to ensure that the meter is working correctly with the test strip

it is then recommended that you periodically perform a control solution test, just to maintain the calibration and accuracy of the meter with the strips

the result that will be announced when a control solution test is carried out should be within a range printed on the test strip vial (some people may require sighted assistance to carry out this test).
