West Indian folk-tales
Product features
Most of the people of these islands are of African blood, with memories of ancient peoples and faraway lands. Anansi, the spider, is a chief character in their folk-tales, often outwitting those more powerful and much stronger than him. Most of the stories told in the islands are set in the West Indian landscape, telling of animals that, with one or two exceptions, belong to the island. The stories explain why many things in the world are as they are.
