As digital technology pervades more and more of our daily lives, this edition looks at some of the benefits and opportunities that new technologies can bring to education and learning. Embracing these opportunities is second nature to young people growing up in an interactive, digital era, yet for blind and partially sighted children much still remains open for improvement. We look at the potential of mobile phones in everyday life and study; the role of ebooks in education, and the ways in which technologies like the iPad can replace traditional forms of access technology. In an inspirational interview with 15 year old Ashley Cox, we discover he has built his own computer and created a website which has recently celebrated over a million hits. This edition also includes practical suggestions for helping children achieve good oral care.
