The iGlasses® are an ultrasonic obstacle detection device developed by RNIB and Ambutech. They have been designed to be used as a secondary mobility device alongside traditional aids such as a cane or guide dog. Worn like a normal pair of spectacles they provide vibration feedback when you near an obstacle at head and chest height. As you near obstacles such as over grown branches, hanging signs and baskets the frequency of the vibration will increase - giving you more confidence to expore your surroundings. They come with black frames and arms with brown tinted lenses and are also available with clear lenses.
