RNIB PenFriend - the everyday voice labeller.

Record your own self-adhesive voice label and attach to a wide range of items in and around the home, at school and at work, with this simple and easy-to-use labelling pen. Use it to label: food items, including freezer food with use by dates and cooking instructions; as you go around the shop, label items as they go in your basket; label your DVDs and CDs; place notes on medicine packaging and organise your paperwork. And now, with PenFriend washable laundry labels, never leave the house wearing a pair of odd socks or a mis-matched outfit again!

RNIB PenFriend - winner 2010 Winston Gordon Award from our Canadian counterpart, CNIB.

The Winston Gordon Award, established in 1988, is presented annually to an individual or group who has made significant technological advances benefiting people with vision loss. This award recognises the work that RNIB does, including developing low cost solutions for labelling.


RNIB PenFriend - winner 2011 Digital Access Onsite category at the Jodi awards.

Awarded by the Jodi Mattes Trust for Accessible Digital Culture, to recognise initiatives that make collections and information more accessible to disabled people. Bristol Museums and Galleries Archives improved the visitor experience for blind and partially sighted people visiting M Shed, Bristol's City History Museum.
