A great hands-on tool for teaching the concept of shapes, angles, measurement, area and perimeter to blind and partially sighted children. The white plastic geoboard can be used to map out quadrilaterals and triangles and is supplied with a variety of coloured rubber bands.

one side of the 11 x 11 pin geoboard (LC188) has a grid made up of 2cm squares, forming a 10 x 10 square grid, the other side has an isometric pin grid

one side of the 6x5 pin geoboard (LC189) has a grid made up of 3cm squares, forming a 5 x 5 square grid, the other side has a circular pin grid

the raised pins hold the rubber bands in place

use the rubber bands to map out shapes on the board and ask the pupil questions about the shape names, angles, area and perimeter measurements
